At, our efforts can perhaps best be described as educational outreach conservancy. While it’s widely known that regions of South America and Africa have been ravaged recently by clear cutting, our effort is global in scope and we do not limit our acquisitions by geography. Wooded habitats throughout the world are under attack, and we team with other like-minded organizations to protect these fragile ecosystems, wherever they are.

We believe that educational outreach combats deforestation most effectively. Since the drivers of timber harvesting are fueled by consumers, we believe that through consumer awareness programs a “green consumer” is created, reducing the industry demands on the world’s forested regions for years into the future. By coordinating and educating, our objective is a smaller global demand on the world’s dwindling timber supplies.

How Can I Make a Difference?

Sometimes the challenges facing conservationists today can seem overwhelming. With urban sprawl and over-development continuing around the globe, it’s easy to feel a little hopeless when it comes to the environment. But a renewed spirit comes with knowing you made a difference.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
